Katipunan PSO at UCR proudly presents its 28th annual Philippine Culture Night (PCN): "Off Track"
What exactly is PCN, you ask? Simply put, it is a play intertwined with traditional Filipino dances. But in actuality, it is so much more than that. PCN is an opportunity for our 100+ member cast to showcase their passion for Filipino culture. It is an opportunity to spread understanding and awareness of the culture to both the UCR community and the greater Riverside community. It is a process, many months in the making, which pushes its performers to learn and expand their understanding of their culture and of themselves. We invite you to witness the result of this process at the Riverside Fox Performing Arts Center on Saturday, April 15th, 2017. Our cast has dedicated themselves to putting on an incredible show. All we need now is YOU!
This year’s PCN, “Off Track” follows a young man as he tries to find his way around what seems to be an ordinary bustling train station. Along the way to make it to his destination, Ben comes across a collection of interesting individuals who propose solutions to his problem. However, Ben's struggles to accept some of the help he receives and ultimately keeps himself off track. It only becomes a matter of time until he realizes the consequences of complacency.
